Facial Exercises for Cheekbones;)

High cheekbones sculpt the face and draw attention to the eyes. Firm, toned cheeks make you look refreshed and give you a youthful appearance. The muscles of the face need attention and exercise, just like all the other muscles of the body. With gravity and time, they tend to sag and lose shape, but a number of exercises have been developed that are intended to fight these effects of aging.

Fish Face

Annalise Hagen, author of "The Yoga Face," teaches this exercise in her facial yoga class in New York City. Pucker your lips and suck in your cheeks as far as possible. Using your cheek muscles, lift the corners of your mouth into a smile. Hold this for 30 seconds, then repeat the exercise three times. You should feel the warming of the muscles from the extra circulation.

Cheek-Firming Exercise

This exercise works the buccinator muscles and orbicularis oris muscles. These are the lower cheek muscles and the muscles around the lips. Carole Maggio, author of "Facercise," recommends this exercise to her students who want to sculpt their cheeks. Make an "O" shape with the lips, pressing the upper lip over the teeth. Place an index finger on the top of each cheek. Smile and push up the cheek muscles while using light pressure with the fingers as resistance. Hold for five seconds, then relax. Repeat 30 times.

This exercise is named for legendary trumpet player Louis Armstrong, who was nicknamed Satchmo. Sit with the spine erect. Take a deep breath and fill your cheeks with air. Move the air from one cheek to the other. Keep moving this ball of air back and forth until you're out of breath, then blow it out. Repeat five times. You should feel the burn in the muscles and a flush from the circulation boost.

Sophisticated 70s: women’s trend

’70s evening glamour at Ferragamo A/W 2010

70s sophisticated fashion by night

By night the ’70s sophisticate turns into the ultimate socialite, with look-at-me shimmering fabrics and cuts that either tightly hug or sensually drape over the body.
  • Choose high sheen fabrics with a ’70s disco-inspired edge, like lurex or silk; anything with a metallic thread.
  • Add a ruffled neckline under a brocade blazer or tuxedo jacket, paired with a sharp pair of pants.
  • Long, slinky gowns with draping, low necklines or dress slits are the ultimate in ’70s night time glamour.

Accessorising the 70s fashion revival

Accessories are key when it comes to creating a ’70s look. Some things to keep in mind:
  • The right handbag completes a look. Try for smart, high quality bags like a leather satchel for day, and a small bag with a long strap for night.
  • Big, statement leather belts slung over mini skirts or maxi dresses add impact and fair to a seventies-inspired outfit.
  • A pair of on-trend thigh high boots are probably already be in your wardrobe by now – pair them with hot pants or a skirt for a decidedly sexed-up yet sophisticated ’70s look.
  • Wear lots of jewellery – but keep it a little cleaner than for a boho look. Try lots of rings with bold stones, neat piles of bangles, and long pendant necklaces and strings of beads.
  • Look to complimentary hairstyles like a sleek longer bob, masses of bouncy curls, or long, flowing hair.
Daytime ’70s styling at Chloe A/W 2010

70s sophisticated fashion by day

By day it’s all about clean yet voluminous silhouettes, and earthy ’70s colour palettes. Look for:
  • High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in.
  • Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.
  • Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Add to the ’70s effect by layering over beaded necklaces or a vest.
  • For those more daring, a pair of hot pants are the ultimate ’70s item.
  • A smart printed jumpsuit is another great alternative.

Gossip Girl Season 5 Spoilers!

Gossip Girl Season 5 Spoilers - Premiere Episode 1
Gossip Girl has been picked up for season 5, and will be returning in September 2011 - the premiere is usually held in late September - exact date not announced yet, but we'll post when it is.
Both Taylor Momsen, and Jessica Szohr will not be returning as series regulars in season 5 - only as guest stars on occasional episodes (not really a surprise I guess).
Kaylee DeFer, aka Charlie Rhodes aka IVY has been promoted to series regular so she will be back in a big way, no doubt causing trouble for everyone and getting in cahoots with Georgina.
Georgina will continue to bring the unnecessary drama, but it should shake things up a bit.
Dan's book will be published and will stir up a whole hornet's nest of trouble, yay!
Serena's new guy (Ethan Peck as Patrick) will also be back in season 5, and she'll hopefully have a normal romance and not a crazy one like the past five or six she's had. Looks like she will also have a new career on her hands.
Of course, the biggest news - a baby could soon be part of episode 5, is it Chuck's or Louis'? What do you think?
XOXO Gossip Girl!
